If you steal from one author it's plagiarism; if you steal from many it's research

That comment is from a raconteur named Wilson Mizner. For those of you who wish to know more please follow this link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wilson_Mizner. Not that I'm subscribing to that quotation. It merely points out to the intricate complexity of the issues that we need to grapple with if as a group of concerned individuals we intend to do something to stem the tides of academic misconduct.
Today I contacted a member of senior management at University of Tehran Administrative Central to prepare a one page executive summary on ISL proposed Guidelines for Conflict Resolution in cases of Plagiarism and Intellectual Property Infringements. We would focus on three areas of Conflict Resolution between peers, Mentor-Student, and International Arbitration.
However before Next week when I need to send out the executive summary, I like to hold a brainstorm Pick-Nick (Yes the misspelling is intentional). I hereby openly invite my dear PAP colleagues to come to my Lab for some face-to-face quality time. Our Canteen is notorious for serving foods reminiscent of the good old student days, when we often boasted that our stomach is lined with Titanium. The faint of stomach, can bring in their own snack :).
There are several issues that I like to run by you. It is better to be embarrassed before my Peers than before paper-pushing, desk jockey.
Those who are interested in doing this please contact me at the following address:

or Alternatively you could call me up at my lab at room 206, same address, Telephone Number 61117461.
For those abroad we could manage a live link for one hour using IVISIT.COM service. Please do grace our humble department with your presence and allow my colleagues to profit from your input on this issue. Personally I hope to have Dr. Mirjalali, Dr. Ghodsi and Dr. Jaberipour in this meeting. However I am quite aware how busy these gentlemen are. Remember that this is not a picnic, rather it is a Pick-Nick. I pick the brains of the participants and they would Nick (as in chipping and cutting) my proposals. If this proves a success, we would stage it regularly at other Universities.
hoping to meeting you soon
